#3: 26 septembre 2010 - September 26, 2010

Comme j’avais mentionné dans un billet ultérieur, nous avons passé une partie de l’avant-midi dans le centre-ville de Manaus…nous nous sommes rendu au port international de Manaus ver 13 h 30…comme nous ne pouvions nous enregistrer avant 3 h, nous nous sommes installés à un petit bar au port pour déguster des bières locales…c’est là qu’on a découvert une gugus superbes pour les amateurs de bière…un verre super-géant avec une colonne en métal qui sert à rafraichir la bière et qui peut être remplacée si on s’endort sur sa bière…une commande de 1 L, 2 L ou 3 L peut être placée…toute une découverte être faite en Amazonie…malheureusement je n’ai pas vraiment pu en faire l’expérience, car mon sherpa ne voulait pas partager…mais après avoir compté les cannettes vides on aurait sûrement pu commander 2000 ml…je devrai faire sûr que le sherpa relaxe un peu…pourtant il n’y pas de clause qui interdit la consommation d’alcool dans le contrat…nous avons quitté Manaus en soirée et avons eu droit à un beau spectacle lorsque nous avons passé sous un pont en construction.


As I explained in my previous entry, we had a nice morning walk downtown Manaus…We ended up at the international port around 1:30 PM…As we weren’t checking in until 3PM, we had plenty of time to sample the beer at the bar at the port…we found out about a real cool device for beer drinkers…you can order in quantities of 1000 ml, 2000 ml or 3000 ml…they bring you this big beer dispenser to your table…the dispenser is equipped with a stainless steel column that is used to keep the beer cold and it can be replaced if you don’t drink fast enough…what a discovery to be made in the Amazon…unfortunately my Sherpa did not want to share, so we did not get to order it…after counting the cans of beer on our table when we left, we could definitely have ordered 2000 ml…oh well, got to get that Sherpa to loosen up…it’s not like they have a no drinking clause in their contract…we left Manaus around 6 PM and had quite a show when the ship sailed under a bridge under construction.
