En fin d’après-midi nous avons visité les îles de l’archipel des îles Anavilhanas en bateau…Contrairement à ce que nous avions vu en matinée, il y avait plusieurs espèces d’oiseaux, mais surtout des hérons. Le problème pour la photo était que la lumière vers 5 PM était moins forte, les oiseux étaient assez loin sur les berges et le bateau bougeait même lorsque nous faisions du surplace…pas idéal pour la photo, mais très intéressant…le moment le plus excitant fut lorsque que nous avons approché un caïman sur la berge…j’ai été capable de prendre quelques belles photos…je n’ai pas tout à fait perdu espoir d’avoir la chance de prendre quelques bonnes photos de la nature sauvage de l’Amazonie…
Nous avons eu un peu d’activité en début de soirée…J’étais à travailler mes photos avant le souper lorsque nous nous sommes aperçus que nous étions en train de nous faire envahir par des petites bibittes…La porte de notre balcon ne fermait pas trop bien, un fait que nous avions rapporté la veille lors de l’embarquement…la porte devait être réparée en matinée lorsque nous étions dans la jungle…tout semble indiqué que la personne qui devait s’occuper de la réparation n’a pas pris de notes…par le temps que nous nous sommes aperçus de l’invasion, les petites bibittes étaient rendues dans notre lit…il n’était pas question de passer la nuit dans la chambre…donc nous avons déménagé…lorsqu’on vient en Amazonie on doit s’attendre à se faire des petits amis du monde des insectes, mais de là à dire qu’on veut coucher avec après la première sortie, faut pas charrier…surtout qu’il y a en une qui ma mordue…wow des petites dents ça fait mal…À la prochaine!
Towards the end of the afternoon we went boating around the Anavilhanas archipelagos. Unlike the dearth of wildlife we had seen in the morning, there were plenty of birds to be seen around 5 PM. There were a lot of different species, but mainly herons…The problem with the photography conditions were that light was getting low, the birds were far and the boat was always moving even when we were hovering in a specific area…the most exciting part of the outing was when we got close to a caiman…I had a chance to take a couple of god shots…I haven’t lost hope that I will be able to took a couple of good shots of Amazonian wildlife…
We had a bit of action at the start of the evening…I was working on my pics when we noticed that our room was being invaded by bugs…The door on our balcony didn’t close properly, a fact that we had reported the day before when we checked in…the door was supposed to be fixed while we were in the jungle…I guess the person in charge of taking care that the door would be fixed forgot to take notes…anyway by the time we noticed the little rascals, they were all over our bed…no way were we going to sleep in that room…so we ended up moving…when you visit the Amazon, you got to expect to make friends with members of the insect world…but it doesn’t mean you have to sleep with them on the first date…especially if they are aggressive…I got bit by one…those small teeth were pretty sharp…Talk to you later!
